By public transportation

The best way to reach Rome from our house, for those with a car, is to go to the Cesano di Roma Train Station (RM), located about 20 minutes from the apartment. Here you can take a train that will take you to the center of Rome in less than 30 minutes, available on average every 15 minutes. The ticket price, which also includes the Metro (subway) ride, is just 1.5 euros.

The main stops of this Regional Train are as follows: Valle Aurelia, connected to the Metro A station, San Pietro, just 5 minutes from the Vatican City, Trastevere, in the heart of one of Rome’s main neighborhoods, Ostiense and Tiburtina, where other important Trenitalia stations, including High-Speed trains, are located.

The alternative, for those who do not have a car, is to take the Cotral bus from Nepi to the Saxa Rubra bus station, where you can take the train to Rome Center. On this page, you can find all the information on routes and fares: https://servizi.cotralspa.it/PercorsiTariffe

By car

Those who enjoy traveling by car can reach Rome in just over 30 minutes by taking the Strada Statale Cassia, which is easily accessible from Nepi. We suggest entering Rome from the Via Flaminia off the Raccordo Anulare and parking at Saxa Rubra, where you can take the city train that arrives at Piazzale Flaminio. From there, in less than two minutes walking, you can reach Piazza del Popolo and all the wonders of the center of Rome: Piazza di Spagna, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, and much more.

Alternatively, you can park in the Zona Auditorium Parco della Musica, well connected to the center by tram no. 2, which also arrives at Piazzale Flaminio, or in the Zona Piazzale Clodio, not far from the Vatican City and the Prati district.

Parking in Rome is usually paid, with rates of 1 euro per hour and a reduced rate of 4 euros for a maximum of 8 hours. The hours of paid parking vary depending on the zones and neighborhoods.

We suggest those traveling by car to depart in the late morning to avoid peak hour traffic. In this way, you will reach your destination in about 35 minutes.
